A place to be social, learn and exercise

Elder Haus Senior Center offers many activities for adults 55 and up.

The center offers flu shots in the fall and tax preparation services in the spring. Walking groups and blood-pressure screenings are offered frequently.

Monthly activities include bingo, table games, puzzles and programs on timely topics. Center organizers also plan a mystery trip once a month.

The Elder Haus exercise room includes a treadmill, stationary bikes, health riders and a stair climber. Chair exercises are conducted at 10 a.m. each Tuesday and Thursday. Video games played on the Nintendo Wii, like bowling, golf and tennis, also offer exercise and good times.

Elder Haus has lunches each weekday and provides take-home meals for weekends (for this month's menu, click here). The Elder Haus will be serving meals to Nappanee seniors age 55 and up.  A free will offering of $1.00-$5.00 per meal is appreciated but not required. Meals will be served in a dining room setting and on occasion, there will be a short program, a speaker or entertainment. Please make reservations at least two (2) days before you’d like to join us by calling 574-773-2424 before 3:00 PM Monday – Friday. Transportation is provided at no cost by calling 574-773-2424. *Weekend Specials* - If you attend lunch on Friday and would like a meal to take home for Saturday and/or Sunday, it will be provided to you for free courtesy of Mayor and Linda Thompson.

In addition to on-site programs, Elder Haus will transport seniors within the city limits to doctor's appointments, the grocery store and to the polls on Election Day. The transportation service is available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, but please call 773-2424 a day in advance to schedule a van ride. Payment is not required!
