Elder Haus Senior Center offers many activities for adults 55 and up.

The center offers flu shots in the fall and tax preparation services in the spring. Walking groups and blood-pressure screenings are offered frequently.

Monthly activities include bingo, table games, puzzles and programs on timely topics. Center organizers also plan a mystery trip once a month.

The Elder Haus exercise room includes a treadmill, stationary bikes, health riders and a stair climber. Chair exercises are conducted at 10 a.m. each Tuesday and Thursday. Video games played on the Nintendo Wii, like bowling, golf and tennis, also offer exercise and good times.

Elder Haus has REAL Services lunches each weekday (for this month's menu, click here). The suggested donation for each meal is just $3.50, though anyone 60 and older may attend regardless of the ability to pay. Reservations are requested by 11 a.m. the day prior to your attending; please call 773-2424 to save a place at the table.

In addition to on-site programs, Elder Haus will transport seniors within the city limits to doctor's appointments, the grocery store and to the polls on Election Day. The transportation service is available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, but please call 773-2424 a day in advance to schedule a van ride. Payment is not required!
